Kwame Alexander, Lamar Giles, Raúl the Third!

Mr. Alexander is the author of 28 books, including the Newbury-winning book The Crossover. His newest title is The Undefeated, a poem about the history and heroes of Black Americans. His books have received many honors.
In addition to writing, Mr. Alexander encourages students all over the world to love reading. He founded an international literacy organization and his own publishing imprint, called VERSIFY. Mr. Giles is the author of many exciting young adult thrillers. His books have won many awards, and one is even scheduled to become a movie. His first middle grade chapter book, The Last Last-Day-of-Summer, has already received awesome reviews.
The Last Last-Day-of-Summer is about two kids who find out they can stop time and enjoy just a little bit more summer... but they must work together to solve a mystery before time stops for good! Mr. Gonzalez's (Raúl the Third) latest book is !Vamos: Let's Go to the Market!. The book features Little Lobo, who goes to the mercado to make deliveries. Mr. Gonzalez used his experiences living in El Paso, Texas, and crossing the border to Ciudad Juárez, México, to write the book. Mr. Gonzalez been involved in art in many ways, from sketching since he was young to teaching at the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) and Institute of Contemporary Art to creating a mural in East Boston and one at the MFA. He lives in Medford, MA. He won a Pura Belpré Award for his art in Lowriders to the Center of the Earth, which was an MCBA nominee. The Pura Belpré award is given each year to a Latino/Latina writer whose work is outstanding and is a celebration of Latino culture.
